“Boardwalk Empire” comes to a close this Sunday night, but we have a little something that will help the series live on for you till Nucky and Chalky and that creepy Agent Van Alden roll back onto your televisions.
We’re giving away a copy of the non-fiction book that inspired the HBO series: Nelson Johnson’s Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City (Medford Press, 2010).
It’ll make a great stocking stuffer!
This edition of the book has a foreword by “Boardwalk Empire” executive producer Terence Winter (the show is also exec-produced by Martin Scorsese), a 16-page color insert featuring photos from the HBO show, and a new afterword from the author.
The HBO series, which has been picked up for a second season, stars Steve Buscemi as Enoch “Nucky” Thompson and Dabney Coleman as Commodore Louis Kaestner. Johnson’s book, a detailed history of Atlantic City, chronicles their real life counterparts, Enoch “Nucky” Johnson and Louis the Commodore Kuehnle.
To win the book, send Brooke Cain an email by midnight Wednesday, December 8. The winner will be picked randomly.
